(KNSI) — Several brands of nutritional products and beverages are under recall due to possible microbial contamination.
Brands, including Glucerna, Premier Protein, and Oatly!, are being taken off the shelves after analysis shows that the products did not meet commercial sterility specifications and could be contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii. The Food and Drug Administration says while infections related to Cronobacter are rare, the common symptoms of illness could include fever, vomiting, and urinary tract infection. However, vulnerable and immunocompromised populations may be more susceptible to infection.
No illnesses or complaints related to these products have been reported, but the recalled products should not be consumed.
Anyone with a recalled product should dispose of it immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
