(KNSI) – A family farm near Foley is home to the world’s largest corn maze.

Stoney Brook Farm’s larger-than-life attraction will open to the public on September 10th during its annual Harvest Fun Days. Manager and third-generation farmer Brad Chmielewski said this year’s crop rotation allowed field corn to be grown in a large field.

“We planned on doing a Halloween villain-themed maze already. And then we just thought, well, now that we have all this extra space, we can put more villains in there and make the maze much bigger.”

Brad says his wife Ashley loves Halloween and wanted to go for the record.

“We have a 110-acre maze with 32 miles of pathways. Within that maze, there are four different mazes. There’s an easy maze, a hard maze and then two extreme mazes.”

He says people can get help if they can’t find their way out.

“It’s going to be challenging. So, we have a QR code that you can scan with your phone and follow your location while you’re walking through the maze. We’re pretty excited about that new feature and hopefully, it’ll help some people from getting too lost in there.”

Brad says they worked with a company out of Idaho to design and plant the maze. Stoney Brook Farm is in contact with the Guinness Book of World Records to try and get the maze officially certified.

The farm has been building corn mazes since 2016 when they started with a six-acre field. The farm is famous for its pumpkin patch, which will open next month. For more information, click here.
