(KNSI) – Stearns County is trying to clarify a recent postcard sent to residents in mail-in precincts ahead of the August 9th primary election.
If you want to vote for both local and state offices in person, you will need to go to two different places. The Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer office says the polling location listed on the postcard is only for local elections during the primary. For statewide offices, voters will need to go to the Stearns County Service Center in Waite Park from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on August 9th.
Voters in mail ballot precincts can drop their ballot in a secure drop box located at the Stearns County Service Center instead of mailing it in their vote. The drop box is available 24/7 through August 8th. Ballots can also be dropped off at Melrose City Hall.
Ballots for the primary have been mailed to all registered voters in Belgrade, Elrosa, Greenwald, Lake Henry, Meire Grove, New Munich, Roscoe, Spring Hill, St. Anthony and St. Rosa. Ballots were also sent to voters in the townships of Crow Lake, Crow River, Farming, Getty, Grove, Lake George, Lake Henry, Luxemburg, Melrose, Munson, North Fork, Oak and Spring Hill.
All ballots must be returned by Election Day.
Those who have not yet received a ballot, contact the Stearns County elections office at 320-656-3920 or email at elections@co.stearns.mn.us.
