(KNSI) – Cold Spring City Administrator Brigid Murphy has tendered her resignation after six years in the position. Murphy says she accepted a job elsewhere, declining to name her new employer during Tuesday’s council meeting. Murphy says she’ll remain in the role for about a month.

“Policy is 20 days but I did ask them to give me more than that. So, the 25th of August will be my last day serving the City of Cold Spring.”

She told the group that she has already solicited a bid from David Drown Associates in the Twin Cities to help with the search for her replacement.

“They put the whole package together, they market it, they do all of that, and what they’re doing with [the City of] Richmond. It’s a $22,000 cost, but they do give you a two-year guarantee.”

The executive search firm specializes in hiring within the public sector. The Cold Spring City Council plans to take up the issue at its August 10th meeting.
