(KNSI) – Two area Republican lawmakers are being celebrated by the National Federation of Independent Business. The organization has given both Representative Lisa Demuth, from Cold Spring and Senator Jeff Howe, of Rockville, the Guardian of Small Business Award.
The NFIB scores the voting record of legislators, comparing them to the wishes of its members. Demuth and Howe both got a perfect 100% rating. The award is given to a lawmaker who scores at least 80%.
Taxes, mandates, and red tape are some of the issues business owners felt strongest about during the 2021-22 session.
Howe says, “Small businesses across the state have gone through a challenging couple of years, and now more than ever, they need advocates at the Legislature working on their behalf. I will continue working with them as we prioritize a viable and successful business climate for all Minnesota small businesses.”
Both Demuth and NFIB Minnesota State Director John Reynolds shared similar sentiments.
