(KNSI) — Tensions at a rally for a man killed by Minneapolis police last week boiled over Sunday as the woman whose apartment the man shot into confronted protesters outside the apartment building where it happened.

Arabella Yarbrough went to the building to collect her belongings from her unit, which is now uninhabitable due to the damage and asked the crowd gathered where her justice was. Those upset about the shooting were at the building to “commemorate” the life lost there and demanded body cam footage and other evidence be released immediately. Yarbrough interrupted them, asking if they would be protesting if 20-year-old Andrew Tekle Sundberg had killed her and her two children.

One protester allegedly told her to “shut up” and accused her of being dramatic for the TV cameras. Another told her, “this is not the place,” even though they were outside the building where she lived, and it was her apartment that was affected. Some protesters clarified to her why they were there, and another hung their head and walked away.

Police were called to the building by Yarbrough about 9:30 Wednesday night after Sundberg began firing a gun and a hail of bullets came through her wall. Yarbrough called police, who rescued her and her two small children while they also came under gunfire, allegedly from Sundberg.

Police retreated and evacuated part of the building before crisis negotiators arrived and worked to get Sundberg to surrender for the next several hours. Snipers set up across the street from the building and shot and killed Sundberg at about 4:30 Thursday morning. Details leading up to the shooting and why snipers were set up across the street have not been released.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.
