Man Killed in Fiery OHV Crash

(KNSI) – A man has died after a fiery crash in Cass County.

First responders were called around 10:30 on Saturday morning to a crash in Shingobee Township near Akley. Deputies met with the caller, who said they were on the road when they came across the crash.

Deputies say the 2021 CAN-AM Maverick lost control, went into the ditch, hit a large oak tree and caught fire. The body of a 23-year-old man from Waterville was found in the vehicle. The initial investigation indicates that the man was driving alone and crashed sometime after midnight.

An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office and the crash remains under investigation.
