(KNSI) – Residents downstream from Mississippi River County Park and north of the Sartell Dam are asked to check their shoreline for signs of a missing six-year-old girl.
Since July 3rd, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has been assisting the Northfield Police Department in the search for Elle Ragin. The girl’s 39-year-old mother, Lisa Wade, died after an apparent suicide on July 2nd in Northfield. It is believed she had something to do with her daughter’s disappearance. Officials have confirmed that Wade and Elle were at the park in late June.
Investigators found items at the park that led them to believe Elle was in the area on June 21st. Wade had contact with the sheriff’s office at the park on June 23rd.
The search has involved more than 100 volunteers on foot, several K9 units, water patrols, drones, the Minnesota State Patrol Helicopter and the Benton-Stearns Dive Team.
The park was closed to the public but has since reopened.
Anyone with information should call the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office at 320-251-4240 or the Northfield Police Department at 507-663-9302.
