Flash Flood Watch Issued for St. Cloud Area

(KNSI) – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Central Minnesota.

The watch is in effect from 10 p.m. Friday through Saturday Morning in Benton, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns and Todd County. The watch includes the cities of St Cloud, Cambridge, Sauk Rapids, Princeton, Little Falls, Long Prairie, Mora, and Elk River.

Meteorologists say creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. Forecasters are expecting another 1 to 2 inches of rain overnight. Residents should monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
