(KNSI) – Xcel Energy is pledging to help keep things stable on the homefront as Minnesota service members deploy across America and around the world. The utility is rolling out a new “You Cover Us, We Cover You” program.
Chairman, President, and CEO Bob Frenzel says Xcel has 1,200 veterans working at the company and they know how difficult it is to be responsible for maintenance at your home when you are thousands of miles away. The program allows a military member to get four appliance repairs for free if the units break over a six-month period during their deployment.
Also offered are military discounts on purchases of new heating and cooling equipment and the HomeSmart program. It includes maintenance and repairs of appliances, as well as coverage of your home’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system, plumbing and sewer line issues, electrical wiring and gas line fixes.
To qualify, service members must be Xcel Energy customers.
