(KNSI) – CentraCare Health has been awarded a grant that will be used to help treat cancer patients in Central Minnesota.

The $23,494.48 grant from the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund will be used to buy four new chemotherapy infusion treatment chairs. Officials say the chairs will allow the health provider to administer more than 3,000 additional treatments a year. Infusion treatments can help with blood disorders, cancer, Crohn’s disease, dehydration, migraines, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic illnesses.

The foundation says the new chairs will significantly help treat more patients. Click here to learn more about the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund.
