(KNSI) — One person is expected to be OK after exposure to a chlorine leak.
The St. Cloud Fire Department says they were called to the leak on the 1200 block of Washington Memorial Drive at about 8:30 Wednesday morning. They say a maintenance person was working with pool chemicals when they were exposed to fumes from a chemical reaction. Residents were evacuated for a short time while the hazmat team stopped the leak and cleaned up the spilled chemicals.
One person was taken by Mayo Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
St. Cloud police and St. Cloud Health and Inspections assisted the fire department. Metro Bus provided a place for residents to stay out of the rain while they were evacuated.
The Sauk Rapids Fire Department provided mutual aid coverage of the city during the spill and cleanup.
