(KNSI) – Metro Bus drivers competed in two categories last month to see who is going to the state competition. The Local Bus Roadeo took place in K-Lot on the campus of St. Cloud State University, next to the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
Entrants competed in two categories, determined by bus size. The top three in the Dial-A-Ride Division (small bus) were:
1. Larry Dolan
2. David Peacock
3. Wayne Prescott
For the Fixed Route Division (large bus):
1. Dennis Sucik
2. Pete Mugg
3. Joe Humbert
The winners participate at states in mid-July in Austin.
Peacock has seen success before. He won the Minnesota State Roadeo last year, something a Metro Bus driver has done on 24 separate occasions. Peacock then went on to the National Community Transportation Roadeo, which was held last month. He took third place. Metro drivers have finished top four in the country seven times.
Metro Bus first began hosting local roadeos in 1986.
