(KNSI) – A central Minnesota foundation has donated toys to help children going through cancer treatment. The Nicholas P. Koenig HERO Foundation recently gave the toys to the St. Cloud Hospital Children’s Center.

The foundation held its Birthday Bags for Beans event last month after a two-year pause due to the pandemic. As part of the event, they collected new toys.

Nicholas lost his battle with cancer in 2011 but his memory lives on through the delivery of toys to SCH and the U of M Masonic Children’s Hospital in appreciation for his care during his battle.

Nicholas’ mother, Shannon (on the right), delivered the toys to Stephanie Hagen, director of the Children’s Center.
