(KNSI) — The swimming quarries and Quarry Park and Nature Preserve are open for business.

Families looking for a place to cool off can check out Quarry #11. It’s about a third of a mile walk back, but it boasts a sandy beach area with new steps that were just completed this week.

Quarry #2 is about a half a mile hike into the park. It has high rock formations for jumping, and SCUBA divers can enjoy the 116 foot depth.

The Stearns County Parks Department says there is no lifeguard on duty at either quarry.

There is one picnic shelter near each of the swimming quarries. Picnic areas also dot the park with tables and grills. All are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The daily parking permit fee is now $10. An annual permit costs $25. Permits are also needed for climbing and diving. Learn more by clicking here.
