(KNSI) – A golf tournament Friday is expected to bring in tens of thousands of dollars to the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation. The organization is the beneficiary of this year’s Jacobs Financial Swing Fore Charity Golf Event.

Foundation Vice Chair Bill Mund discusses past results of the event. “The history of this tournament have raised, from my understanding, as much as $70,000. Probably with an average of $50,000. We think we’re going to be in that $50,000 range,” Mund says.

Proceeds will benefit more than just the COP House. “It’s going to the foundation with an eye toward helping fund operations at the COP House. Also, our foundation does scholarships for young students pursuing careers in public safety.”

The tournament has been sold out for months, despite the steep price tag to participate. The fee for a team of four is $600. It begins at 10:30 AM at the Territory Golf Club in Saint Cloud. There will also be a silent auction with great prizes, including winning tickets to a suite at US Bank Stadium for a Vikings game.
