(KNSI) – Rumbling tummies won’t be a problem for kids enrolled in summer programming through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota. The organization is teaming up for the fifth consecutive year with the United States Department of Agriculture to offer free meals starting next week at its KIDSTOP sites and area clubs.

The sites are located in Clear Lake, Saint Cloud, Saint Joseph, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, and Waite Park. The clubs are open from noon-6:00 PM each weekday, which is why breakfast isn’t served until the afternoon in those locations.
KIDSTOP locations run from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM each Monday through Friday. Children enrolled at KIDSTOP are still responsible for lunch. In addition to learning about healthy eating habits, kids will have the opportunity to go on field trips. A variety of activities will be provided at each location, including arts and crafts, drama club, and cooking.
The program has a waiting list. Registration closed on April 21st due to staff shortages. Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota hopes to open up more available spots if hiring picks up.
Each week has its own theme from movies to volunteerism and supporting Minnesota sports teams.
