(KNSI) — The four surviving victims of a fatal shooting at the Allina Crossroads Clinic are expected to take the stand as week two of the Gregory Ulrich murder trial gets underway in a Wright County courtroom Tuesday.

Through the first four days of testimony, jurors heard from 37 witnesses, including some of the first officers on the scene after the shooting and Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer. Officials with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and clinic workers also testified. One worker said she knew she was going to die and never see her family again as she lay behind a toilet in a locked bathroom as Ulrich tried to coax her out of hiding. Patients in the building at the time of the shooting recounted their experiences, including one person who dragged a gunshot wound victim into an exam room and used her sweater to tie a tourniquet around their arm to stop the bleeding.

Ulrich is accused of walking into the clinic on February 9th, 2021, and opening fire, killing 37-year-old nurse, wife, and mother of two Lindsay Overbay, and seriously injuring four others. Ulrich is charged with one count of first-degree premeditated murder and four counts of attempted first-degree premeditated murder. He also is accused of detonating three explosive devices during the attack.

The prosecution is expected to rest its case Wednesday. The defense will then present its case, but no timeline has been given for how many witnesses will be called.
