(KNSI) – The scars from another round of severe storms were still apparent across Stearns County on Tuesday. May has seen at least four separate rounds of bad weather roll through, bringing wild wind and heavy rain at a minimum with it.
Trees on the Lake Wobegon Trail finally began to give way, falling across the path, impeding bikers and other users. Stearns County Parks Department had crews clearing the stretch between Waite Park and Sauk Centre on Tuesday. They’ll look to finish the job between Albany and the border with Morrison County on Wednesday.
Flooding had temporarily closed the drive-thru at the Stearns County License Center in Waite Park earlier in the month. Law enforcement and emergency personnel had to conduct several rescues on the Sauk River due to high waters as well, other examples of the weather affecting local government operations.
