(KNSI) – The $400,000 campaign to install inclusive playground equipment at the Sartell Lions Community Park kicks off Sunday afternoon.

Being held at the Blue Line Sports Bar, there will be a host of activities including a 50/50 raffle and a chance to win a grill.

The goal is to create a space that has a non-slip surface, open to kids of all physical abilities. Ramps would help kids who need wheelchairs play next to children using the monkey bars. Features would stimulate different senses, including hearing.

Because of the enormity of the fundraising effort, the Sartell LionsClub is getting assistance from the LeSauk and St. Stephen chapters as well. The organizations typically work separately on different initiatives.

To contribute, you can do so online here. The Lions are also accepting checks. Make them payable to The Waters Church with Sartell Lions Playground in the memo line.
