(KNSI) – Sartell’s Swing into Summer returns next month. The free family-friendly music in the park program takes place on Tuesday evenings in June and July at the Lake Francis Outdoor Stage. Sartell Community Education Director Kris O’Brien says there’s more to do than jam to the music.

“We not only have music, but we also have a full mini-golf course that was built and designed by the city grounds crew. And that will be set up again this year.”

O’Brien says there will be some new stuff in year two of Swing into Summer.

“We’re going to add lawn games. We have a couple of event nights. We added a food vendor. The three local Lions Clubs are offering a food stand and all of the proceeds will go to their initiative to build an all-inclusive playground at the Lions Park and Sartell. So, we’re really excited for this event.”

Event nights include a truck night and an ice cream social. The free event brought in between 100 and 150 people weekly last summer. If the weather isn’t cooperating, the program will be moved inside the gyms at the Sartell Community Center. The city says it’s hoping to grow the event over the years.
