(KNSI) – The Robertson Cup is decided in a week’s time and Saint Cloud enters the home stretch of the playoffs as the favorites. The North American Hockey League has awarded the Norsemen the number one overall seed when the semifinals begin on Friday.
The format is a best-two-of-three series followed by a guaranteed off day on Monday, May 23. The Robertson Cup Championship Game is a winner-take-all affair on Tuesday, May 24th. Saint Cloud was tested, going to a deciding fifth game in the Division Semifinal round against Bismarck. They won the Division Final against Aberdeen in four games, but Friday night’s win took three overtimes to secure. Saturday’s contest was a nail-biter with the Norsemen coming out on top, 3-2.
All Robertson Cup games are occurring at the Fogerty Ice Arena in Blaine, Minnesota. The remaining teams come from all parts of the United States. Saint Cloud will face the #4 Anchorage Wolverines from Alaska. The other semi-final round has the New Jersey Titans looking to skate past the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
Tickets are $40 for the entire event or $15 per day, with discounts available for military service members, students, and senior citizens.
