(KNSI) — Three men are OK after their kayaks flipped on the rain swollen Sauk River Saturday night.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office sats 21-year-old Preston Silver of St. Cloud, along with 22-year-old Cole Roach and 21-year-old Aaron Euteneuer of Sauk Rapids were paddling near Heim’s Mill when one of the kayaks hit an object in the water, causing the kayak to overturn. The other two became entangled and also flipped.

Sartell Police responded first and found the three onshore near Riverside Drive. None of them were hurt and they were all released from the scene. The three were wearing their life jackets.

The Sauk and nearby Mississippi Rivers are both above flood stage, which leads to fast-moving water. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is urging canoers and kayakers to avoid using their vessels until levels return to normal.
