(KNSI) — A Wright County man was sentenced to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.
The FBI executed a search warrant at the Otsego home of 34-year-old Alexander John Odegard in September of 2021. That lead to the discovery of at least 34,723 images and 555 videos depicting child pornography. He was already on supervised release for child pornography possession in Wright County when he was caught with those images.
Odegard must also serve 15 years of supervised release and pay $65,000 in restitution, $17,000 to the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography fund, and $5,000 to the Domestic Trafficking Victims’ fund.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, click here.
