(KNSI) — Minneapolis police are investigating the 32nd homicide of the year after a two-year-old boy was found unresponsive Wednesday.
According to police, they were called to an apartment on the 2400 block of Oakland Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. for a child not breathing. They found the toddler with his mother and attempted lifesaving measures before rushing him to the hospital, where he died. A four-month-old sibling in the home was also taken for observation. Their condition was not released.
Police are not releasing any details surrounding the child’s death, but they say it is suspicious.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the boy’s name and cause and manner of death.
