(KNSI) – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who used eggs and other objects to hit vehicles, including a deputy’s squad car. The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help finding the person who damaged vehicles in the 5000 block of Golden Spike Road Northeast in Minden Township on April 30th around 1:45 a.m.

Investigators say a woman was driving when someone threw an egg at her from the road ditch. The egg dented her vehicle and caused the loss of some paint. A deputy went to the area and began searching for a suspect.

As the deputy searched, his squad car was hit by an object from the ditch. The deputy says a male wearing dark clothing ran away from the area. The suspect disappeared quickly into the darkness.

After a search of the area, no suspect was located. The deputy says he found eggshells, eggs, golf balls, taconite pellets, and a wrist
rocket near the spot where the suspect fled.

Anyone with information about the crime or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at (320) 968-7201 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at (800) 255-1301, www.tricountycrimestoppers.org.
