(KNSI) – A man was arrested after running from police and jumping into a river in Becker. Police were called to a home on Hillcrest Road and Pineview Drive around 1:50 p.m. on Monday for a suspected trespasser.

Officers arrived at the home but were denied entry. The Officers confirmed an arrest warrant for the suspect, 27 year old Christopher James Rawdon. The Becker man is wanted in Ramsey County on suspicion of fleeing from police. Officials say they saw Rawdon take off and run for the Elk River on the east side of Becker.

After a nearly four hour search with police K9s and a drone, the suspect was found hiding in the river around 4:30 p.m. and arrested. Rawdon was taken to the Monticello Hospital for an evaluation. He was then booked into the Sherburne County Jail pending charges of trespassing, fleeing
police on foot, obstruction of legal process, criminal damage to property in addition to the pending warrant.
