(KNSI) – Three people face drug charges after a police chase on Interstate 94 in Clay County led to more than $37,000 worth of drugs, including 1,000 fentanyl pills. Officails say it’s the largest Fentanyl seizure in the county’s history.

On Wednesday, police learned that two cars were going to Minneapolis to get drugs and sell them in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Officers tried to make two traffic stops but both vehicles fleed from deputies. Both cars were eventually stopped by law enforcement.

During searches of the suspects’ and vehicles, officers found the fentanyl pills and around 20 grams of methamphetamine. Police also found ammunition and learned one of the cars was reported stolen.

Police say This is the third significant drug seizure in the last month in Moorhead. In March, two individuals were arrested after investigators intercepted a shipment of powdered fentanyl transported on I94, in Clay County, with a street value of $15,000. On April 12, two people were arrested on I94, in Clay County, with a shipment of fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and marijuana, with a street value of $20,000.
