(KNSI) – A career fair specifically targeting individuals who want to work with children is set for Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00. It will take place at CareerForce on Northway Drive near the campus of Saint Cloud Technical and Community College.
Talent Director Gail Cruishank says she was originally approached about the idea by an area nonprofit. She says, “This is a new angle that we are addressing, or we’re taking. It was actually a response, or a request, that came to me from Boys and Girls Club and really focused around maybe some of those employers that people don’t think about.”
She adds that the companies and organizations in attendance have a variety of needs, perfect for the situation of any applicant. Cruikshank says, “So it could be part-time, it could be full-time, could be working one-on-one in a healthcare type situation, or it could be working with Boys and Girls Club, or a variety of other organizations.”
Cruikshank reminds people that there are a ton of rewards to working with kids, namely playing a role in shaping the future in a way many careers can’t match. Several area school districts are expected to attend as well.
