(KNSI) – The Tri-County Humane Society is looking to collect $20,000 in proceeds during its annual Wine, Kibble, and Bids fundraiser. Normally the auction is the centerpiece of a gala, but uncertainty caused by the omicron COVID surge forced the shelter to return to an online format again this year.

Special Events Coordinator Emily Prodinsky says jewelry is always a sought-after item. She says the Humane Society is trying to maintain the spirit of the event, even when virtual.

“We’re trying really hard to keep the wine in Wine, Kibbles, and Bids. Normally there’s wine tasting at the night of the event, but we have all kinds of packages of wine and individual bottles of wine.”

The proceeds go to the shelter’s medical fund. Prodinsky lists some of what the shelter is capable of providing. “Surgeries…spay and neuters. We spay and neuter everyone who comes in and out of here now. Minor surgeries, fracture repairs — smaller surgery kind of things that we can do here in house.”

A link to bid is available here. The auction stays open until 8:00 PM Friday.
