(KNSI) – Sauk Rapids is ready to rock again.

The lineup for Riverside Nights was made official at Monday’s City Council meeting. Administrator Ross Olson says that although there is an opening act and headliner each week like other concert series, “Rock The Riverside” is not an attempt to outdo Summertime by George or what Waite Park is accomplishing at The Ledge Amphitheater.

“Really our capacity is just a few thousand people. I think last year we kind of let it grow organically,” says Olson.

Rock The Riverside was rolled out in 2021 to initial crowds of maybe 400 to 500 people. It reached a crescendo of around 1,200 as the community became more aware of the series. Olson says the shows are scheduled to maximize the benefit to area businesses. Food trucks and concessions are available on site, but the city encourages people to find a nearby restaurant or another establishment to complete the night.
