(KNSI) – Stearns County 4-H continues its tradition of success at the State Project Bowl. Held on April 9th, the local club had six teams taking part, with all finishing in the top five of their respective category.
Stearns County Local Extension Educator Katie Petty says the Project Bowl is the second biggest 4-H event on the calendar each year. Teams of three to six members have to show aptitude in animal science and agriculture topics. The categories include dairy, dog, general livestock, horse, llama, poultry, and rabbit.
Regionals were held in March, with six Stearns County teams getting to the State Project Bowl. Those advancing were part of 97 squads competing overall from across Minnesota. Two Stearns County teams will head to the national competition in November, Stearns County Senior Poultry and Stearns/Benton Senior Dairy.
