(KNSI) – The Great River Archery Club is taking over Mississippi River County Park in Rice for the weekend of April 30-May 1. While they host their Spring 3D Shoot, the facility will be closed to the general public.
Over 30 targets, resembling elk, deer, and other wildlife will be scattered along the course. Groups of up to four people have a chance to hone their bow hunting skills as they wait for the fall season to arrive, or they can try out target shooting on a different kind of range.
Adults can register for $25, with youth charged $10 per person. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The archery club is planning on selling concessions at the park during the event and will be hosting a novelty long-range challenge, a 50/50 raffle with a bow and quiver required. Five dollars gets you three chances. The winner will collect half the total pot.
Great River Archery Club hosts events throughout the summer, including tournaments. The Minnesota State Archery Association holds its State Target 900 Round and 50 Meter Tournaments in Saint Cloud in mid-June.
