(KNSI) – An apartment fire leads to an estimated $57,000 in damages. A second-story unit at the Elkwood Apartments complex saw flames break out at approximately 8:45 PM Tuesday. The cause is still being investigated by the Saint Cloud Fire Marshal.
Public safety personnel responded to the 12-unit building. Saint Cloud Police led the evacuation while Saint Cloud Fire contained the blaze to just the one unit. The Elkwood Apartments structure, located at 1212 2nd Street NE, has three floors.
The Fire Department thanks Mayo Ambulance, Metro Bus, and City of Saint Cloud Housing Inspection for assisting at the scene.
