(KNSI) — The upcoming Easter holiday has Faith Feeds MN springing into action again.

Organizer Ben Prigge says he hopes to prepare 1,500 meals after dishing out over 1,250 for the first time at Thanksgiving. Prigge says the operation is self-funded, but Faith Feeds MN is grateful for donations as it grows.

“We broke it down and the cost per meal is about $5. So, if we’re looking at doing about 1,500 meals, we’re looking at getting together about $7,500.”

The group’s mission is to take the burden off of those struggling, for whatever reason.

“You could be doing fine financially, but maybe mentally or physically there’s something going on that you just don’t feel you’re up to be able to try and make that meal this year…You don’t want your family to suffer with that, or you don’t want to suffer with that, and you don’t want to be alone for this holiday. So, instead, we’re going to provide you with that meal, so you can still have the ability to have that good meal with your family.”

Dinners are prepped Thursday, April 7th, and Friday, April 8th. Prigge and his wife will be distributing them on Saturday, April 9th. First from a refrigerated truck outside his house at 813 3rd Ave SW in St. Joseph between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and at Solid Rock Family Church in Sartell in the afternoon.

The meals can be taken home and then heated on Easter Sunday. That’s the only step required for a ready-to-eat holiday feast.
