(KNSI) – The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota were given $10,000 to help keep kids’ mouths healthy. The club’s Healthy Smiles Healthy Kids program was donated by Delta Dental of Minnesota.

The program focuses on five areas of dental health. They include creating healthy dental habits such as the importance of brushing and flossing teeth to prevent cavities, teaching proper nutrition, and how it’s connected to healthy teeth and gums. The effects of tobacco, drugs, and alcohol on oral health. Help parents understand the importance of having their kids brush their teeth. Kids taking part in the program will also get incentives to keep up healthy habits.

The dental program is for kids at the Eastside Club, Roosevelt Club, and Southside Club. For more information, click here.
