(KNSI) — Wright County Sheriff’s youngest officer acquitted himself nicely over the weekend. K-9 Grizz and Deputy Michael Loomis competed in narcotics trials, the first competition of its kind for Grizz since his initial training.
The event was hosted by Brainerd and Baxter Police Departments. 53 dogs took part and Grizz earned a top-10 finish overall, including second in the room search portion of the competition and 3rd in vehicle search.
Grizz and Loomis notched a score of 199.66 out of 200. Grizz is a handsome German Shepherd/Malinois mix, who is just over two years old. He joined the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in June of last year.
