Man Admits Giving Teen Girl Drugs in Exchange for A Sex Act

(KNSI) – A Big Lake man has admitted to giving a teenager girl drugs in exchange for a sex act. Mariano Cocchiarella pleaded guilty in Stearns County District Court to one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd degree. The 22-year-old will be sentenced on May 11th.

Cocchiarella admitted that he met a 13-year-old girl in the 800 block of Upper Spunk Lake Road near Avon, where she performed oral sex on him. The victim says she was given an ounce of marijuana in exchange for the sex act and $90.

Police began their investigation after the girl’s foster parents found messages on her phone between the girl and Cocchiarella.

An undercover officer was posing as a 15-year-old girl in a chat room known for children being targeted for sex when Cocchiarella allegedly made contact. The undercover officer says Cocchiarella asked her for sex and reportedly sent a lewd picture.
