(KNSI) — The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest has been made in connection to the shooting of an 18-year-old in Avon earlier this month.
According to officials, 21-year-old Emmanuel Galen Johnson was arrested Saturday in Harvey, Illinois, on an outstanding warrant for first-degree aggravated robbery with a firearm, second-degree assault with a firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm. Johnson is in the Cook County Jail in Illinois, awaiting extradition to Minnesota.
Police say the victim was shot in a car in Avon during a gun deal. The other person in the car, Grant Alexander Monaghan, has been charged with aiding and abetting first-degree robbery involving a dangerous weapon and aiding and abetting second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
The victim, who was shot on March 8th, is still hospitalized at North Memorial in Robbinsdale. He is listed in stable condition.
The investigation is still ongoing.
