(KNSI) — Crews with the City of St. Cloud will start picking up yard waste, weather permitting, on Monday.
According to a press release from the city, yard waste contained in city yard waste bags will be collected throughout St. Cloud each Monday. Residents can buy ten 30 gallon bags for $12.50. City officials ask that bags should only be bought as needed because they are compostable and have a shorter shelf life.
Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, pine cones, pine needles, pumpkins, acorns, apples, and small twigs no bigger in diameter or length than a pencil. Yard waste mixed with food scraps, animal feces, styrofoam, or other foreign materials will not be accepted.
As many major holidays fall on a Monday, there are several dates where yard waste will not be collected, including Easter Monday, April 18th, Memorial Day, May 30th, Independence Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, Monday, September 5th.
All other schedules remain the same.

April 4th is also the day when the City of St. Cloud’s compost site opens at noon, weather permitting.
