(KNSI) – A Minnesota company is sending bullets to fighters in Ukraine as they resist Russia’s invasion, which began one month ago. Federal Ammunition workers in Anoka, owned by VISTA outdoor, decided they couldn’t stand by after hearing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy say, “I need ammunition, not a ride.”

“We’re a major manufacturer of small arms ammunition. It’s what we do better than, we think, anybody else in the world. And so, there was this unanimous desire amongst the ammunition team in Anoka to do something and we’re proud to say that we’ve got a million rounds of ammunition on its way to Ukraine,” said Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications Fred Ferguson.

He says the bullets are coming to the Ukrainian people completely free. “It’s a donation. It’s being shipped at our expense all the licensing but again if this was the right thing to do to help their effort for freedom and protection of their sovereignty.”

Along with sending ammunition to the frontline, the Federal Ammo team also donated $50,000 to the Global Giving Relief Fund for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

You can help support Ukraine by buying a t-shirt being sold on Federal Ammo’s website. All the proceeds will go to the Ukrainian people.
