(KNSI) – The Sartell Park Residents Association is planning a protest Monday. Calling it a walk in the park for justice, demonstrators will march from the front entrance of the park at 4:30 p.m. to the Sartell City Hall in time for the city council meeting at 6:00 p.m.
According to a press release from the Sartell Park Resident Association, there are more than 360 residents at the manufactured home park, with a majority living on fixed incomes. The park was sold to Colorado-based Impact Management HMC, LLC. Since the sale, residents claim to have received twice-annual increases in rent as well as large increases in the cost of utilities. The increased fees have not led to an improvement or propper maintenance in the park.
The association claims they have negotiated in good faith with the management company, but have received negative responses and residents are now being harassed for organizing.
