(KNSI) – In light of the improving COVID-19 numbers, the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud has made some changes to screening and walk-in procedures at the center. Barry Venable, Public Affairs Officer for the VA Medical Center, tells KNSI he hopes the changes create a more normal environment at the center.

“We’ve kind of gotten used to, you know, life during the pandemic,” Venable said. “This is a little glimmer of moving back to normal in the days ahead”.

The outdoor screening that has been in place at the VA Medical Center has been suspended. All veterans with medical appointments will now be screened during clinic check-in. As a result, the 44th Avenue/12th Street North entrance will now be open.

Walk-in services remain limited, but the urgent care center is available.

Masks will still be required at the VA Medical Center.

Finally, the canteen entrance has been reopened for veterans who need a snack before their appointment.
