(KNSI) – Tami Calhoun has announced her candidacy for the District 14A seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Calhoun taught for over 30 years at South Junior High and Talahi Community school in St. Cloud. She’s also been active in ISAIAH, a multi-racial state-wide coalition of faith communities promoting racial and economic justice in Minnesota. She has worked on the St. Cloud Community Policing Agreement, the Stearns County Community Sheriff’s Agreement, and other local projects. She has also made seven mission trips to Pakistan, where she taught music lessons in their classrooms.
“Minnesota is a wonderful state – and I believe it can be even better,” Calhoun said. “I work hard, am detail-oriented, and persevere to find successful solutions.”
The seat is currently held by Representative Tama Theis, who is running for the Minnesota Senate in District 14.
Calhoun and her husband, Dan, live in St. Cloud.
