(KNSI) – A chase that started in St. Cloud ended almost 30 miles later near Cushing. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says they learned that the SCPD was pursuing a Chrysler Concord on Highway 10 at around 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon. The chase crossed into Royalton, where deputies picked up the pursuit.

The sheriff’s office says several officers tried to use stop sticks but were unsuccessful. According to a press release, the driver tried to turn into the oncoming lane of traffic by going north in the south streets. At that time, a deputy used a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Tactic) maneuver to stop the vehicle.

Police say they arrested the 36-year-old driver from Minneapolis and a 37-year-old passenger from Ponemah. Both are being held at the Morrison County Jail pending formal charges.
