(KNSI) — The name of a local credit union is changing its name because it has grown and expanded beyond St. Cloud.

Central Minnesota Credit Union is now Magnifi Financial. Its membership has grown to include North Dakota, central Minnesota, the Twin Cities, and Wisconsin.

Central Minnesota Credit Union’s “Centered on you” belief still stands. According to the company website, “Our focus continues to be on improving the lives of members by offering competitive and efficient financial products and services, providing exceptional service to each member-owner, and building trusted relationships that can last a lifetime. Our dedication to members, employees, and the communities we serve remains our essential priority.”

A video on the website says it’s the same credit union and has not been sold or merged with another financial institution. Accounts, loans, terms, mobile app login, and digital banking will remain the same. Members will have a new website where they log in, and the mobile app also launched with the new look and branding. Debit and credit cards will still work, but members should watch their mailboxes for new Magnifi Financial cards in the coming weeks. Paper checks with the Central Minnesota Credit Union branding can still be used until they run out. When members place a new order, they will get paper checks with the new name and branding. Direct deposits and loan payments will remain the same, but the name should be changed to Magnifi Financial.

The name change became official on March 1st.
