(KNSI) – After residents rejected a proposal last month, Sartell won’t ask voters to approve a food and beverage tax this fall. The proposed 1.5% tax was voted down with 232 yes votes to 462 no votes. According to city officials, Sartell doesn’t plan to add a food and beverage tax request during the November election.

Sartell says it will revisit the ballot question in years to come, but there is no definite timeline for when the city expects to bring it back to voters.

St. Cloud residents will be voting on a proposed .5% sales tax to help fund the city’s share of a $31 million renovation project to the Municipal Athletic Complex. St. Cloud also asks lawmakers for permission to collect the tax for four road projects.
