(KNSI) — The 12th annual Pack the Porches Food and Fund Drive for Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf in St. Cloud is Friday, March 18th.
Pack the Porches is held during the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign, and Coborn’s Inc. will again match all food and cash donations of up to $10,000. Donations stay local but count towards a statewide effort to stock shelves statewide. A share of the statewide campaign will grow with every dollar or pound of food donated locally.
On March 18th, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., donations can be dropped off at Pioneer Place on Fifth in downtown St. Cloud, St. Cloud Hyundai in Waite Park, and St. Cloud Financial Credit Union in Sartell.
Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf says it distributed 1,303,807 pounds of food to 12,320 people in 4,138 households in 2021.
According to a press release, March is typically a challenging month for Minnesota food shelves, as the number of families being served
the first months of the year and the amount of food going out the door is considerably greater than the amount of food coming in during the same period.
KNSI’s Bob Hughes will be live from Pioneer Place from 6 to 9 a.m.
