(KNSI) – Tiffany Kobbermann, a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Minnewaska High School in Glenwood has received the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom 2022 Teacher of the Year award.

According to a press release, Kobbermann will receive a $500 stipend and up to $1500 in expenses to attend the 2022 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In her application, Klobbermann wrote “I believe that students need a well-rounded perspective of agriculture. My hope is that my students will share the positive things they learn with their friends and families and the circle of learning will continue to grow.”

The MAITC also announced the recipients of the 2022 Agricultural Literacy Grants.

South Junior High School in St. Cloud will receive a grant for the Farm Camp Field Day Tour.

The grants are designed to support hands-on activities with bees, chickens, dairy, hydroponics, and other agriculture-related projects. Other grants were awarded to schools in Brainerd, Eyota, Barrett, Wadena, Montgomery, Zumbrota, Winona, and La Crescent. For more details on the grant winners, click here.
