(KNSI) — A 26-year-old man from Cosmos is under arrest after allegedly leading police on a short chase that started and ended at his home.
According to a press release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and agents from the CEE-VI Drug Task Force were looking for Jonathan Alvarez, who had an outstanding warrant for first-degree burglary and second-degree assault out of Kandiyohi County. They say February 18th, Alvarez was spotted about 4:45 p.m. leaving his home. Police tried to stop him, but they say he fled, leading them on a short chase through Cosmos before returning to his house and surrendering. He was taken into custody without further incident.
After the pursuit, the Kandi/Meeker SWAT team and the CEE-VI Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Alvarez’s address. The press release does not say what they found.
Alvarez was arrested on the outstanding warrant and is awaiting formal charges of fleeing and a drug violation from the latest incident.
He is being held in the Meeker County jail pending a court appearance.
